What is juvederm?
Juvederm is a cross linked hyalinoric acid, a compound found in normal healthy body tissues. It is obtained by biosynthesis and is of non-animal origin. It can be injected into the skin of the face filling in lines and wrinkles, leaving it looking even and smooth.

Which areas are suitable for treatment with juvederm?
Naso-labial folds (the creases between the nose and the corners of the mouth)
Peri-oral wrinkles (wrinkles around the mouth)
Marionette lines (jowels)
Crow’s feet and deep frown lines
To increase lip volume

How long will juvederm last?
The results are immediate and last between 6-9 months, dependent on the area treated and the strength of Juvederm used.

Are there any side effects?
*Juvederm is safe and effective and side effects are few. Topical anaesthetics cream or local anaesthetic blocks can be used to ensure comfort during injecting. Occasionally inflammatory reactions, including redness and mild swelling, may be slow to settle, lasting up to one week. Very rarely reversible discolouration of the injection areas have been reported.
